... and a difficult year. I will be releasing a new CD/ physical format in the New Year (2012) and hope to include up to 12 new tracks on this which will include tracks released on this web-site and two or three. All tracks have been produced by me and I play all instruments and vocals. Rupert Cobb guests on one track. provisional title is "Suburban Narrative".
DAVE LEWIS (LEWISDAVE):
Getting ready for the winter chill here in the UK- meteorologically and economically we fear. Unlike our respective leaders I do have access to an A level (or would AS suffice?) Economics textbook and Keynes's General Theory. But this site is about music I hear you say.
And with that in mind, here is an update. "Interchange" is "out" on CD Baby and should be available as a download from various sites in the next few weeks. Very pleased with the art design concept- Andrew Feest, Brighton-based designer and erstwhile Early Modern fencing specialist- thanks and respect. Check out the pictures in the GALLERY.
Working on new tracks as ever- all reflecting the suburban ennui of the middle-aged male. Which would be songs about men, women, domestic cats and urban foxes. And not a mention of some outdated economic theory anywhere. I'll post some rough mixes up as soon as I can.
In the meantime wrap up warm and hunkerdown this could hurt.

School's out , forever it would seem...
And that's just a tease, I know. There are some things to look forward to. Interchange went to the duplicators last Friday and should be out on the net within a few weeks. Check out some early mixes of these tracks in the MUSIC section.
Is physical media now obsolete? I may now simply load up new material via the site and My Space/Facebook/Reverb Nation/ Sound Cloud and enable listeners to download direct. I asked some of my students the other day what they would be prepared to pay for music downloads. The answers ranged from "nothing " to 2 pence. In fact the highest amount they were prepared to pay was 20pence - and that was for an album. And we used to claim that "home-taping" was killing music. Who gets paid along this food-chain, then?
So we'll swim with the flow and put it out for nothing- help yourselves everybody...
We'll make it back on the merchandise. In fact this is just the business model pre-Beatles. Music released at a [...]
I have put some mixes of a selection of tracks which I have called INTERCHANGE. This is a tone poem intended as film theme music and features 11 pieces with recurring themes. All the instrumentation is mine though Trev Shipston does contribute bass guitar on one track.
I am commissioning art-work for this piece at the moment and hope to have it released by the early summer. From the studio to the net to the dance-hall and thence to the shelves...
